April
April was a blur, y'all.
It started out with car trouble and late night rescue missions, worked up to hand quilting an entire quilt that I let get away from me, planting my newly expanded (but still not big enough) garden, breaking into the soffit to remove a bee hive, a predator in my chicken coop, a day trip to Madisonville to retrieve a vehicle, a day trip to Austin for a funeral, a week out of town for a pre-paid vacation and finished up with running my first half marathon in Oklahoma City.
I think I crammed more into those 30 days than I did the last 6 months of 2017.
This month has started a little more constructively, with rigid-ish guidelines in place both for working hours and also playtime hours. I've been working on a batch of produce bags to get up for sale, plus there's a batch of beer soap that needs to be wrapped, labeled and uploaded. I've found a couple of consistent egg customers, and the garden is absolutely beautiful. I've started and ended every day with a thankful spirit and am trying to do one thing a day that will make tomorrow better. (You'd be surprised what you can find)
I realize that putting all of the above in place doesn't mean that things aren't going to explode again, but at least the time leading up to that inevitable explosion will be more pleasant.
My scheduled chore time is approaching, so I'm gonna wrap it up.
Y'all be nice to each other!
