I'm slow but I get there

Sometimes it takes me a while to figure things out. And it took me 15 years to figure this one out.  It's always been my Big Plan to sew in the winter and garden in the summer. This being Texas, it gets pretty hot pretty quick when summer rolls around. And quite honestly,  winter usually is fairly nice. So, the prudent person would do all the outdoor yard work, projects and gardening during the months of September through May and then sew and work on indoor projects while it's hot.

See what I mean about things taking a while to be figured out?

So the New Big Plan is to get outside as soon as the heat breaks, weed and mulch the flower beds and the garden area and get everything ready for planting to begin with garlic in October. Outdoor projects will be attended to. Really cold days will be spent by the fire drawing flower bed and garden plans and ordering seeds. Plants started in the greenhouse. Everything planted and done and finished by May 31st. And on June 1st, I retreat indoors to wait out the summer, with the occassional sojourn out to water and harvest.

Wish I'd thought of it year's ago, but better late than never.

  1. :) I'm still trying to figure out a schedule. I always try to make a schedule in stone but it never works the way I plan. I think we have to be willing to be flowy and adjust accordingly.
