Balance

This year has totally kicked my ass. So many things on the calendar with not enough time between to recover and prepare for the next thing. As a result, things got neglected. A lot of things, and because I'm me, mostly my things.  This blog, the healthy cooking, the garden, relaxation, even hanging laundry on the line.  All year I've been telling myself "after this next event I'll get caught up and things will be back to normal" but I was just deluding myself. I spent the year running from fire to fire and trying to hang on.

Don't get me wrong, I've had some fun this year from a weekend Herbal Forum with my bestie in the early spring to a wonderful visit from my children and grandchildren that just ended. But the overall feeling of the year has been one of being overwhelmed, under prepared and very anxious.

So, before the new year starts, I'm taking stock and deciding what I need to do different to make 2015 better. I'm setting up a general calendar organized Deb style for basic things to be done each month to keep me on track. I have put a weekly planning system into use to pinpoint specific actions that need to be taken to stay ahead of the game and not get over extended. I refuse to be blindsided over and over like I was this year . I will be claiming time for myself and my family and things that aren't work.  I will concentrate on the difference between "urgent" and "important".  I will bring balance to my world.

And it will be amazing.
